The world's largest automaker said today that it would take a pass on the worlds's biggest advertising venue in yet another move aimed at saving money/ GM an "official sponsor" of the NFL and one of the big games's biggest advertisers, said it would confine its promotiona spending to the considerably less expensive and less viewed pre and post game shows.

i think theat advertising during the superbowl is huge. everybody watches the superbowl guys for the football girls for the commericals. if GM wants to be notice they should advertise during the game not pr or post game shows

General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner last week offered no guarantee that the auto giant would use American-made batteries in its new electric-powered car, the Chevrolet Volt, even as Detroit automakers pressed for $25 billion in U.S. government loans to support the development of advanced-technology vehicles in this country.

So much for the American car company. made in china or where ever is not made in America! Can GM be leaning to become a better company in another country? if so then why ask The US government for loans.

GM showed that it is drifting toward greater financial trouble when it drew down on its line of credit yesterday. According to The Wall Street Journal, GM "said it intends to draw down the remaining $3.5 billion of an existing $4.5 billion secured revolving credit facility to boost its liquidity amid uncertainty in the capital markets."

this is yet another example of GM not doing so well i really believe they are depending on the federal loan for the company's survival.

having a recall on anything to me is unacceptable! there is no reason why this car should be on the market. GM should of seen this problem during the testing stages, before being distributed.

GM chairman and chief executive Richard Wagoner Tuesday in Detroit to unveil the production version of the company’s highly anticipated Volt, a plug-in hybrid car that analysts say could save – or further sink – the struggling U.S. automaker

i hate to say that its going to take move than a hybrid car to save this company i believe that this car is more hype than anything. GM wants this car to save its company i just dont know if the car will stand up to the pressure and the hype

GM celebrated its 100 year officially yesterday. there was a lot of talks about how the company is doing great and they expect to stay around for another 100 years, i just don't see that happening. if they are doing so good why would they be asking for billion dollar loans. there sales in the US so far for this year is less then last year. unless they are fully depending on this loan to change things or they marketing more out side of the US then maybe other than that i think GM's future is not good

Mar 100/Perez - Assignment #4

GM has many different marketing techniques in which they use to show consumers their products. Recently during the summer Olympics GM air a commercial with Brandi Carlile for the Saturn, Cadillac, Chevy and Pontiac. Also with attention grabbing spokesman like Tiger Woods, GM defiantly have good commercials. And when they want to have their product seen they feature themselves in auto shows like the Los Angeles Auto Show this coming November.
GM's Chief Executive Rick Wagoner has stated that the loan they are seeking will not be a bail out for the detriot automaking company. They need this federal loan to be able to reach government mandate for 40% better fuel efficiency by the year 2020.

A spokesman for GM said "the company’s coming Chevrolet Volt electric model would be a prime candidate for federal dollars." These type of cars are thought to be a great solution for our environmental problems.
